Las Vegas, NV– After a 9 month layoff due to a combination for bad business, bad business decisions, and promotional team change, undefeated junior welterwieght titleholder Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley finally made it back to the ring. His opponent, former four-time titleholder Joel Casamayor.
From the opening bell, this fight was no where near competitive. Both fighters have a history of leading with their heads making them chronic head-butters. Bradley dropped Casamayor four times. When Casamayor was not clinching, he was butting. When he wasn’t butting he was being backed into every corner of the ring.
After eight rounds of circus fighting, Bradley delivered a vicious body shot that sent Casamayor to he knees and brought the terry cloth to the canvas.
The 28-year-old Bradley rose to 28-0 with his 12th knockout, dropping the 40-year-old Casamayor to 38-6-1, with 22 KOs. Casamayor is expected to ride off into the sunset and call it a career. Bradley is expected to be Pacquiao’s next opponent. Sacrificial lamb anyone?
