I agree with the author from #1-#5, but I start my disagree with having Tim Bradley there as well as having Nonito Donaire over proven battle tested and dominant heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko. I understand the criticism of him but his results have no argument. Bradley blatantly ducked Amir Khan and it took a risk taker in Peterson to down Khan. I beleive Miguel Cotto deserves to be in the spot Bradley takes and Nonito Donaire should be under Klitschko as Donaire only has fought and dominated smaller men in lower weight classes and has shown that his actual boxing skill and adjustment ability to be none. This is just my opinion and the author is entitled to his. Greetings...

First of all my friend Nonito won by split decision as judge Ruben Garcia had it 115-112 for Vazquez. I had it 115-112 for Donaire but Vazquez fought a galant fight. Let me explain my point in a way that I don't look as a hater because I'm not, I actually like Nonito Donaire and I think Bob Arum has wasted his talent in lots of meaningless fights and cards. I was upset last night cause I thought Nonito Donaire should've tried to win in spectacular fashion and actually made Vazquez's stock rise because a 14-1 favorite didn't look so last night and today I'm poorer because of it. A prime example of the overhype that can be creayted around a fighter who KO's a solid fighter in spectacular fashion was when Devon Alexander brutally KO'd Juan Urango, a man who was thought to have one of the best chins in Boxing, Devon got overhyped and over time we've seen his stock plummet worse than Enron's.
Nonito started at 118, but went down as low as 112 to get belts from a lot smaller men, same at 115. At 118 he left the division w/o fighting the elite guys (Moreno, Mares, Agbeko) while they fought each other, except for Moreno the other two are proven guys. Moreno just gave Vic Darchynian a boing clinic and I think he beats Donaire hands down. Donaire then climbs to 122 and fights a name but not a real good boxer. Donaire has relied in athleticism and speed too much but his boxing skills remain archaic. In his last two fights he has dominated, yes, but not a real exciting fashion and his game has shown some major flaws that he needs to work on. He gets hit with the jab way too often for a elite fighter, he has NO inside fighting skills, he never goes to the body and he does have a mean left hook to the body, he gets bored and showboats too much. All these flaws will show up whenever he fights an elite fighter.
Nonito is a supreme talent, but his overhype may be his undoing, I hope he works his kinks out and becomes the kind of fighter he can become, but honestly I don't think Garcia can teach him how to be a complete fighter. On the lower weights he relied on speed and power, on higher weights with fast guys as well he will need more and more to rely on skill and IMO he doesn't have enough actual boxing skills to deal with the Rigo's, Gamboa's and Moreno's of the world....
I wish Nonito Donaire the best of luck and his recognizing of the need of going back to the drawing board shows that he's actually aware of his flaws and if he becomes a complete fighter he will be very hard to beat. Hopefully Bob Arum does keep this guy active, the Lord knows we need a lot more Nonito Donaire's in Boxing....

Until Mayweather and Pacquiao fight each other the number one pound for pound is still up for grabs. Pacquiao does not do as well against a technical counter puncher, Marquez, and Mayweather does not do as well against a true pressure fighter, lets not forget his fight against Julio Jesus El Matador Chavez. When they fight each other they will be fighting against styles they both do not do well against. Lets hope for a fight this year and then Sai-en and all of us can post a pound for pound based on facts.

Do you even realize the magnitude of what a Pacquiao-Mayweather MEGAFIGHT would generate? If Pac was fighting Marquez or any other fighter aside from Mayweather, then yes, May 5th would easily be doable. But if Pac-Mayweather fight were to happen then more time would be needed to promote it since it would be sooo much bigger than anything else. A little more extra time and the hype will build up. More hype=more $Cha-Ching$. Yes, Pac and Floyd fans alike will cry and lament about it. But from a business standpoint, it makes a ton of sense. Basically, it's all about trying generate as much revenue as possible. And let's not forget that this could very likely end up being the highest grossing pay-per-view fight of all-time. So you could hate on Arum all you want (who really likes him anyway?). But as a fight promoter he's only doing what he knows is best.

Additionally, the author for some reason or another seemed to have left out information regarding Arum's proposal to build a larger stadium to accommodate a larger audience. This extra piece of info also fits in to the need to have the original May 5th date pushed back. If the fight were to take place in Vegas, then the MGM Grand (which is where Floyd wants it to happen) would likely be too small to accommodate such a large capacity crowd. Hence the proposed construction of a larger stadium, which of course will take a good amount of time to build (with set-backs included).

And finally, I don't want to go off on the author/webmaster of this website. But I sense rather biased undertones in his "reporting." I've browsed around and found that either information regarding the latest boxing news is incomplete or bits and pieces of it are chosen to make some of those involved in the sport look bad or good. Just be careful about how you take in information from this site and to keep an open mind.
